Shriya Pilgaonkar is awaiting the release of the new season of her web series, The Broken News 2. The actress played the journalist Radha in season 1, which premiered on ZEE5. In the second season, Shriya has reprised her role. However, her character has been 'flipped', as mentioned by Shriya. The Broken News 2 actress discussed her role at length in a recent interview. She also said that she had to stop herself from judging Radha.
In an interview with Mid-Day, Shriya Pilgaonkar revealed that every character in season two of The Broken News has been flipped, especially Radha. While in season one, Radha was seen as an ethical and principled journalist, The Broken News 2 will show a different side to her.
"After being called a terrorist, my character, in season two, is going through an inner conflict. She has taken things personally. It took me a while to let go of control while playing Radha because she was making certain choices that I would never make. I had to stop myself from judging her," she told the tabloid.
The actress enjoyed discovering new layers to her character and also reuniting with her co-stars, Jaideep Ahlawat and Sonali Bendre. She will be busy promoting the web show with them on her birthday today (April 25). "Later in the day, I will catch up with my friends. When I am not shooting on my birthday, I like to travel," said Shiya.
The second season of The Broken News is due for an OTT release on May 3, 2024. It will premiere on ZEE5. In the series, Jaideep will be seen as Dipankar Sanyal and Sonali Bendre will play the role of Ameena Qureshi. Apart from them, Indraneil Sengupta and Taaruk Raina have pivotal roles to play in the series.
