A lot of debate is going on about OTT taking over theatres and several celebrities have given their take on it too. The latest actor to join the bandwagon is Shreyas Talpade. During a recent interaction, the Iqbal actor said everything has its own space and place and the movie theatre has its own magic. He called it a celebration of sorts for people on weekends to go and watch movies with the family.

Shreyas told IANS, "The theatres need to open and there has to be some kind of normalcy in terms of entertainment that is not going to die ever."

About OTT, the actor said, "It's something that people are simultaneously getting used to and becoming a matter of habit now."

Talpade went on to call OTT an addiction and spoke about how one won't go to a movie theatre or watch TV for 24 hours.

He shared that the pandemic situation has made people loners thus they are finding entertainment on their phones. Shreyas added, "We start binge-watching web series. We finish one season and wait for the next season."

The Golmaal Again actor further asked, "Why do you think there are so many OTT platforms and all of them are doing well?"

He reasoned that it's because when we have content, we tend to binge-watch, finish it off and move on to the next one. This has become a win-win situation for OTT. Shreyas also said that the millennials are hooked on their phone sets and they just want to see more content.

The actor revealed that he has been offered a lot of projects on OTT and he is still considering them. However, Talpade launched an OTT platform on performing arts which he has named Nine Rasa which produces plays, skits, dance and music among others.
