Shreyas Talpade collapses due to heart attack; admitted to ICU at Mumbai hospital – Here is what we know so far

In a shocking development, Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade, 47, suffered a heart attack this evening after finishing his film’s shoot. He underwent an angioplasty and has been admitted to the ICU in a Mumbai hospital. Hindustan Times has confirmed the development based on its reliable sources. This development comes a day after he commenced the shoot of Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Welcome to the Jungle’.

Shreyas Talpade hospitalized

According to a report published in HT City just a few minutes ago, the 47-year-old actor was rushed to the hospital, and he underwent angioplasty at the city's Bellevue Hospital in Andheri West.

Sources close to the development told HT City, "He shot through the day, was absolutely fine, and joking around with everyone on the set. He even shot sequences that had a bit of action. After finishing the shoot, he went back home and told his wife that he was feeling uneasy. She rushed him to the hospital, but he collapsed on the way."

On the personal front, Shreyas Talpade has been married to reputed psychiatrist Deepti Thapade since December 31, 2004.  Together, they are blessed with three girls namely Aadya, Myra, and Khushi.

Shreyas Talpade, a versatile actor, has graced the screen in numerous films that garnered both critical acclaim and commercial success. Particularly recognized for his portrayal of Pappu Master, Shah Rukh Khan's friend in Om Shanti Om (2007), Shreyas has showcased his talent in various comedies including Golmaal Returns (2008), Welcome to Sajjanpur (2008), Golmaal 3 (2010), Housefull 2 (2012), and Golmaal Again (2017). 

In addition to his acting prowess, he lent his voice as a dubbing artist for Allu Arjun in the Hindi version of Pushpa: The Rise (2021).

Shreyas will soon be seen in Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ - a film which is expected to be released by Christmas next year.
