Just five days ago Emraan Hashmi dropped the trailer, and teased fans with his upcoming project. Showtime, a Disney+ Hotstar show is coming soon on March 8, 2024. Showtime pulls the curtain back on the modern world, where the lines between truth and fiction are constantly blurred. In this gripping tale, a filmmaker and a journalist bicker in a battle that reflects the very conflicts shaping our current times. Emraan takes centre stage, bringing his signature intensity to the role of the filmmaker, reminding us that sometimes, the biggest stories unfold outside the silver screen.
Today Rajeev Khandelwal, Mouni Roy, Shriya Saran, Mahima Makwane, and Emraan Hashmi gave some exciting hints about Showtime. According to them, it's all about lots and lots of drama, showbiz, and the Hindi film industry. It will also depict how a film is made, the whole process. While talking about it, Rajeev teased saying that fans have only seen one side of their favourite actors, but Showtime will disclose various sides, which will definitely amaze fans.
The trailer unveiled the glitz of Bollywood, sprawling studios, dazzling stars, and powerful back-end executives. But beneath the glamorous world, darkness is hidden. A news anchor throws the spotlight on nepotism, the alleged favouritism towards prestigious family chains, while a conflicted Emraan Hashmi, the head of Victory Studios, struggles with his own truth. “I know it was handed to me”, he admitted, "but I have fought tooth and nail to get this studio here!" His words drip with both resentment and determination, hinting at a man burdened by privilege and driven by ambition. This is not just a glimpse into Bollywood, it's a peek into a world where ambition, resentment, and privilege collide.
Excitement erupted among fans within minutes of the scoop, with comments overflowing with anticipation. Mouni Roy's character has some fans eagerly awaiting her appearance, while others are captivated by the stunning visuals and Mahima Makwane's mesmerising look. Vishal Vaishishtha also has his share of admirers, adding to the collective buzz surrounding the project.
While Disney+ Hotstar’s Showtime is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, it is directed by Mihir Desai and showrunner Sumit Roy.
