Eros Now is a membership-based OTT and a video-on-request entertainment and media platform, launched in 2012. It is owned by Eros Digital, the Indian digital media management arm of the US media organization ErosSTX.

Established in the year 1977, Eros International plc began its business with film acquisitions and within a couple of years, it proceeded to turn into India’s first merchants of VHS. The size of the Android app is 20 MB and the download and onboarding experience was smooth. The content language preferences can be selected to find the language-specific content on the app. Subscription is not needed to view content on the app, however, if you wish to watch anything, you’ll have to opt for the same.

Subscription Plan:

Eros Now's plan of action is a membership-based on three kinds of subscription plans. The basic plan (in India) incorporates admittance to standard definition quality streaming at INR 49 monthly. The plan permits limitless access to streaming including access to HD streaming and features, such as watching without ad breaks, downloading and watching anytime, and cancellation anytime. At INR 79 you can get this plan for three months and at INR 399 you can save 40% and get the yearly plan.

Multiple genres like Romance, Comedy, Action, and Drama are offered in their content section. There’s also content for kids, sports, animation, devotional. You will get the option to sort via language or your favourite stars.

Eros Now has more than 12,000 digital titles that incorporate films, TV programs, music recordings, and 2.5 lakh music tracks. It has blockbuster films like Cheeni Kum, Happy Bhag Jayegi, Manmarziyaan, Bajirao Mastani, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Goliyon ki Raas Leela Ram-Leela, Rockstar, Shubh Mangal Savdhan, Vicky Donor, Mukkabaaz, Munna Michael, Ki and Ka, English Vinglish, Sellvandhan, Zindagi Virat Hain, Maine Pyaar Kiya and Padosan among numerous titles across 10 Indian regional languages.

The advanced on-request platform also has an assortment of global shows which are broadcasted on Hum TV and ARY TV. Eros Now additionally has web series and movies like A Monsoon Date, Maunn, Salute Siachen, Black and White Interviews and more in their segment called E-Buzz.

Design and experience:

The design is simple and neat with lots of widgets like Top picks, Trending, Recommended etc. in each section which makes it easier for the user to choose content. The dark background colour makes the content stand out and the lighter text is clearly readable on all screens. The ‘See More’ option for the widgets in the app provides more options to the user such as:

Eros Now is a great app for those of you who love to watch Bollywood films. They show great feature films from oldies to the most popular ones of the day. Sometimes the translation isn't 100% accurate but is relatively correct for the most part. I would definitely recommend Eros Now to any Bollywood movie buff.
