Only one day of shoot is slated to take place in Delhi, after which the team of Empuraan will go to Ladakh for a month.

After many delays, the shooting of the Mohanlal's Empuraan has finally commenced in Delhi. Director-actor Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal took to their social media pages to share the news and pictures from the pooja that was held before the shoot began, which was attended by writer Murali Gopi and producers Antony Perumbavoor and Subaskaran, among others. Fans, who have been eagerly waiting for an update of the much-awaited sequel of Lucifer, are understandably thrilled.
Empuraan's much-delayed shoot
The shooting of Empuraan was delayed due to the pandemic and after Prithiviraj suffered an accident on the set of his other film, Vilayath Buddha . The shooting of the film was supposed to begin in August, but an unexpected injury to Prithviraj forced the team to change the dates at the last moment.
According to reports, only one day of the shooting take place in Delhi. The team will next move to Ladakh to shoot there for a month. Mohanlal will return to Kerala after completing a day's shooting in Delhi. The project reportedly has an extensive schedule in various places in Kerala and other major Indian cities like Hyderabad and Mumbai.
Lucifer, Empuraan, and L2E
Actor Prithviraj made his directorial debut with Lucifer in 2019. The film was a big hit, and the makers decided on the sequel, Empuraan, at a later stage, choosing to retain the cast and crew of Lucifer. Due to the popularity of the film, Empuraan is also referred to as L2E, with L referring to Lucifer and E referring to Empuraan.

Lucifer, produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, was the directorial debut of Prithviraj, with Mohanlal in the lead role. It had an impressive ensemble cast, which includes Vivek Oberoi, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, Saniya Iyappan, Sai Kumar, John Vijay, Sachin Khedekar, Baiju Santhosh, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Fazil, Suresh Chandra Menon, and Nyla Usha. The film's music is composed by Deepak Dev, and the cinematography is handled by Sujith Vaassudev.
