R. Madhavan has just made a shocking revelation! He has hinted that he might have been replaced in Tanu Weds Manu 3. The actor, who played the male lead in the franchise, might no longer be a part of it. He confirmed not being approached for the project which has been creating buzz in the midst of his Hisaab Barabar and Kangana Ranaut's Emergency release. Here's the story so far...
Madhavan was talking to Screen magazine where he hinted that he might have been replaced in Tanu Weds Manu 3. The actor was unaware of the storyline and said, "I have no clue and I don’t know what the script is. Maybe I am not there in it. Maybe they have replaced me. I haven’t got the faintest idea."

Like most Bollywood projects that do not have an official statement, the buzz for Tanu Weds Manu 3 is only online. Madhavan also pointed out how the storyline - of Kangana Ranaut in triple roles - is simply on Instagram. The makers have not confirmed a thing and as for the actor too, he clarified that he hasn't been approached for the project yet. "Neither Anand nor anybody else has talked to me about part three," he shared. So, for now, Tanu Weds Manu 3 itself is just speculation.
Interestingly, Kangana Ranaut has switched to politics, and Emergency was supposed to be her last acting project. However, there are rumors that Kangana and Madhavan would work in a psychological thriller together. The film, if things work out, will be released in Tamil and Hindi. So, Tanu Weds Manu 3, if it happens, might either be in the pre-production process with the makers trying to figure out the timelines, or we might see a whole new cast if the film actually sees the light of day.
Aanand L. Rai's Tanu Weds Manu was released in 2011 and the second installment, Tanu Weds Manu Returns was out in 2015. The movie also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Deepak Dobriyal, Swara Bhasker, and Eijaz Khan, out of whom Swara has also not taken up acting projects since her wedding and motherhood.
