A few days ago, they released Veera Raja Veera, which will have Jayam Ravi and Sobhita Dhulipala in visuals. Shankar Mahadevan, KS Chitra and Harini have lent their voices for the song which celebrates Tamil, valour and romance. Ilango Krishnan's lyrics and AR Rahman's composition, the common factor in the two songs, are major attractions of those numbers.
The team has now surprised everyone by unveiling its third song Shivoham. Sathyaprakash, Dr Narayanan, Sreekanth Hariharan, Nivas, Aravind Srinivas, Shenbagaraj and TS Ayyappan among others have crooned the devotional track that sings praises of Lord Shiva.
The song is likely to appear in the film when Madurantakan (played by Rahman) gears up to rule the Chola kingdom after rumours do the rounds about the death of Arunmozhi Varman and Vanthiyathevan. All the three songs from PS 2 which have been released so far are different from each other in terms of their genres.
The cast and crew of the project are expected to begin promotions from next week. With almost two weeks left for the release of Ponniyin Selvan 2 in five languages, film buffs have been expressing their disappointment over makers not indulging in adequate promotional activities.
The magnum opus will hit the screens in IMAX and 4DX formats; the movie becomes the first in the south to be released in the latter version. The trade is eagerly waiting to know the final theatre count and day one box office figures from across the world.
