Century Star has an exciting lineup of at least 10-12 films at any given point. Right now, as he prepares for the release of Bhairathi Ranagal, he’s got composer Arjun Janya’s 45 ready as his next. That’s a film in which he’s got Upendra and Raj B Shetty for company. The actor had begun working on an untitled 131stproject, and has collaborations with several filmmakers, including Hemanth M Rao (Bhairavana Kone Paata), lined up. He’s also just announced a new home production called A for Anand, which is an adaptation of the Japanese bestseller Totto Chan: The Girl At The Window.
But among all his upcoming ventures, there is one that Shivarajkumar seems particularly thrilled about. The actor, who, more often than not plays gangster or other rough-and-tough characters is gearing up for a love story, a genre he hasn’t dabbled with in a while. “It’s a mature love story and we have approached a well-known Bollywood heroine as my pair. She has okayed the project and we are looking at going on floors sometime in May or June of next year,” Shivarajkumar told RJ Nethra during the promotions of Bhairathi Ranagal.
Although Shivarajkumar refused to confirm who he will be paired with, the buzz is that given how much he’s emphasized that it is a ‘mature’ love story, the best bet is that it will be Vidya Balan. Another name heard is that of Madhuri Dixit Nene, because Shivarajkumar has often said that she’s one heroine he’d love to collaborate with. Interestingly, one last name that's in contention is that of Aishwarya Rai, a rumour that's gained ground after Shivarajkumar's most recent meeting with her at an awards event in Dubai.
This film, though, will take off only after Shivarajkumar returns from the US and completes the treatment he’s currently undergoing. The actor is scheduled to have surgery sometime in December or January, following which he needs a month to recuperate, before heading back to a film set.
