When Shivarajkumar recently caught up with his Mufti co-star Sriimurali for a Bhairathi Ranagal meets Bagheera cross-promotional event, the Century Star had a word of advice for his cousin – about better time management. Bagheera is a film that Sriimurali spent 3 years on, which included a few injury breaks, including one that kept him out of action for 6 months. Urging Sriimurali to be careful and avoid such injuries and gaps in his career, Shivarajkumar said that the former ought to follow his example.

Shivarajkumar's film career funda simplified

While Shivarajkumar is also known to be a bundle of energy on the sets of his films, he channelises it in such a way that he is able to seamlessly glide from one to the other. His funda in life, he says, is to make the most of one’s age. “Once you are past a certain age and cannot do things you could sometime ago; there is no point having regrets. That is why I keep doing a lot of films. The more you spend your energy (on doing films), the more you get,” he reasons.

The injuries apart, Sriimurali is also known to take time to accept scripts. He’s done only 6 films in the last decade. Naturally, he wanted to know how Shivarajkumar goes about choosing scripts. “I trust the story and the director; it will work sometimes and at others, it won’t. There’s nothing you can do about the eventual outcome. Take, for instance, Chigurida Kanasu, my favourite film to date; it didn’t work at the box office, but because of that I can’t say it is a bad film. I just trust the vision of the director and am the character when I am on set,” says Shivarajkumar.

Sriimurali’s Bagheera will be in theatres on Deepavali day, October 31, and only two weeks later, Shivarajkumar’s Bhairathi Ranagal releases on November 15. There are rumours that Sriimurali may have a cameo in Bhairathi Ranagal, as the film was initially conceptualized as a prequel and sequel to the events of Mufti.
