Many of us are aware of the popularity of Kannada films like Dia and KGF among Telugu audiences. Now, here's another Kannada film, Bhajarangi 2, starring Shiva Rajkumar, Bhavana Menon, that's testing its luck in Telugu with a different title, Jai Bhajarangi. Bhajarangi 2 is a sequel to the 2013 blockbuster Bhajarangi that made a killing at the box office (also starring Shiv Rajkumar) at the time of its telease. Niranjan Pansari of Sri Balaji Video has bagged the dubbing rights of Bhajarangi 2 for a fancy price in Telugu. The film's Telugu teaser was released last weekend.
"I've been in the film distribution division as part of Sri Balaji Video for over 400 films to date. Telugu audiences have been extremely encouraging in all our endeavours. In fact, we had even introduced the Blu Ray Disc in the Telugu film industry with Magadheera. Our digital channel too has nearly 1.5 crore viewers. I'm happy to be turning a producer with Jai Bhajarangi. The Kannada version of the film, Bhajarangi 2, commenced its shoot in 2019 and the release was delayed due to the pandemic," Niranjan Pansari shared.
A Harsha, who had also directed Bhajarangi in the past, has written and directed this film as well. Jai Bhajarangi is wrapping its post production formalities at a brisk pace. Reportedly, the enormous scale and vision with which Bhajarangi 2 was shot, gave the confidence to Niranjan Pansari to back the Telugu version too. The film is expected to release simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. Arjun Janya has scored the music for the film which has cinematography by Swamy J Gouda. Deepu S Kumar is the editor of the action entertainer. Shruti and Saurav Lokesh play supporting roles.
