Shiva Nirvana, who forayed into films with Nani’s super hit Ninnu Kori, has proved himself as a ‘relationship/family drama’ specialist with his later projects like Majili and Tuck Jagadish. His fourth release, Kushi, also belongs to the same genre. The film, headlined by Vijay Deverakonda, Samantha and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, releases on September 1.
A special musical night, featuring performances of Kushi songs by noted singers, was held in Hyderabad on Tuesday in the presence of fans, cast and crew. At the event, the film’s director Shiva Nirvana, shared the experiences that helped him make the Kushi. He thanked crowds for attending the event in huge numbers and making the event a success.
Apparently, many people keep asking Shiva why he keeps making films on love and marriages? “I honestly don’t have an answer. On September 1, irrespective of your relationship status - single, married, those who don’t want to get married - you’ll relate with it, remember your sweet moments, hug your partner.” He admits Kushi neither has a new story to tell nor will it have new twists and turns.
Calling himself a married man, he said the film was a product of his love (frustration, highs and lows with) for his wife. When you come out of the theatres, you’d want to watch it again, he added. “Kushi is a film that can be watched by audiences of all age groups. Vijay Deverakonda, Samantha are my diamonds who helped me tell this story.”
The filmmaker said he was awestruck by Vijay with Arjun Reddy and believes he has shown his love for Vijay in Kushi. “I don’t call myself a fan of any actor. If I’m compelled to label a name, I’ll label myself a proud Samantha Ruth Prabhu fan. You’ll laugh, feel emotional when you watch Kushi and it’ll have repeat value.”
