Dheeren Ramkumar, son of former Kannada actor Ramkumar and Dr. Rajkumar’s daughter Poornima, has had to endure a long wait to make his grand silver-screen debut. The actor had begun working with director Anil Kumar for his maiden project Shiva 143 but due to the pandemic and several other factors, the film’s release saw a significant delay. However, things are back to being bright for the team as the film finally gets a release date and will hit the big screens across the state this August. Shiva 143 will be out in cinema halls on August 26, 2022.
The team made the special announcement through a poster that offered a glimpse of Dheeren’s intense look in the film. Dheeren Ramkumar, as the trailer reveals, will be seen in an “angry young man” avatar Shiva 143 which also stars Manvitha Kamath as the female lead.
Shiva 143 has been produced by Jayanna and Bhogendra with Arjun Janya as the music composer. Shiva BK Kumar is the film’s cinematographer. The film was previously titled Daari Thappida Maga.
Although unconfirmed, Shiva 143 is likely to be a remake of the 2018 Telugu hit RX 100 which starred Kartikeya Gummakonda and Payal Rajput as the leads. The Telugu film followed the protagonist Siva’s manic quest for love and he faces several threatening adversaries along the way. Despite the ‘A’ censor certification, RX 100 went on to be a major commercial success.
On the other hand, Dheeren Ramkumar is slated to work with James producer Kishore Pathikonda for his second film which will be helmed by Shankar Guru, the director of Shankar Guru. The upcoming untitled project will be a family entertainer with Shankar Guru himself penning the script. Dheeren’s sister Dhanya Ramkumar too is an actor who made her debut in 2021 with Suraj Gowda’s Ninna Sanihake.
