Shekhar Suman and Adhyayan Suman are gearing up for the release of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Shekhar Suman and Adhyayan Suman, the father-son duo will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming drama series, Heeramandi. In a recent interview, Shekhar opened up about Adhyayan's worst phase of his life and recalled the time when he had no work for 12 to 13 years. He also called SLB's show a 'godsend'.
While speaking to Siddharth Kannan, Shekhar Suman said, "This is providence. This is a godsend." He added that this cannot just happen to anyone who is out of work for 12-13 years and is going through the worst phase of his life. Suman added, "You’re in a deep abyss where you are despondent, you have given up, you’re almost on the verge of giving up it’s almost like you’re becoming suicidal. ‘Ab toh kuch nahi ho sakta’. But then there is faith… you’re hanging on to the last vestige of faith…"
The actor further added that one needs to fight for themselves till the time the audience is finally ready to accept you.
For the unversed, Shekar Suman and his son-actor Adhyayan will both be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi, which is set to release on Netflix on May 1, 2024. While Shekhar will be seen as Zulfiqar Ahmed, Adhyayan will be seen as Zorawar Ali Khan.
Speaking about making him a bad name in the industry, Adhayan opened up about how people in the industry made false accusations about him like he doesn't take his work seriously or is difficult to handle. However, according to the actor, these false things created a wrong perception and cost him work over the years. He also mentioned that even Bhansali had similar thoughts till the time he worked with him and saw the reality himself.
Meanwhile, apart from the father-son duo, the series stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hyadri, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Fardeen Khan, among others.
