Over the course of several months, there has been an escalating demand for a boycott of Bollywood movies. Continuing calls to boycott films such as Laal Singh Chadha, Darlings, Raksha Bandhan, and Liger. Additionally, the hashtag boycott Bollywood frequently trends on Twitter. Actor Shefali Shah, though, believes it to be only a passing phase that won't stick around.

Speaking on the same, Shefali recently told India Today in an interview that, "It's a trend. I don't think it's long-lasting," she added.

While questioned if Bollywood was vanishing, the actor responded, "I don't think it's possible. Films are a culture like cricket. It can't die...it can't. People have their points of view, they have their opinions, but there is also a lot of love and appreciation that we get. I think we should just take it in our stride and just say 'we tried' and move on."

Experts have argued that Bollywood might find it difficult to emerge from its recent downturn as the movie industry is harmed and more Bollywood films disappoint audiences. Various people have said that the boycott demands are to blame for the mediocre success of Hindi films. Many, though, argue that the situation has been exaggerated and that the protests have little impact on the movies.

On the work front, Shefali recently appeared in the film Darlings, which also stars Alia Bhatt, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew. Shefali's acting, which had its Netflix debut on August 5, earned a huge number of positive reviews, with many complimenting Shefali's acting. In the upcoming second season of the true crime series Delhi Crime, the actress will once again play Vartika Chaturvedi, a Delhi Police DCP. Starting on August 26, the series will be available on Netflix.
