Shefali Shah addresses the criticism levelled at her husband, the producer of The Kerala Story, Vipul Shah. The actor, during a recent interaction, said that she was badly trolled after posting the trailer online. When asked if she would be interested in acting in the film, she said yes.
Shefali Shah's response to trolling and lack of political interest
Shefali told The Indian Express that she had become the target of trolling after posting the film's trailer online. She firmly stated that she has zero interest in politics. Usually, people show her a lot of support and admiration on social media. The actor posted the movie's trailer online for The Kerala Story and was mercilessly mocked for doing so. It was like, overnight, everybody despised her.
Shefali continued by asking if she was interested in appearing in The Kerala Story. She added that if proof were shown to her, why not? The actor said that it has to be told just as much as Delhi Crime. But if there wasn't any proof and it was all in her head, she would be quite sceptical. But she is positive that there was; she has read the screenplay and gone over all those official statements, so why not? Even if the character had been a Hindu woman, Shefali would still have played the role. She claimed that it wasn't about religion; it was about terrorists; and it was about a woman.
