The sequel to the 2019 DC movie Shazam! Is scheduled for a 2023 release in the US.

American actor Asher Angel commemorated wrapping up his part of the shoot for his upcoming DC superhero film Shazam! Fury of the Gods, in the most charming of ways. The teen star took to Instagram to post an adorable picture of himself with co-star Zachary Levi, the latter playing the titular superhero in the film. The behind-the-scenes photograph shows the duo, all smiles pointing at one another.
Recently a rumour had also surfaced online that the sequel had finished filming, which was politely put to rest by the film’s director David F. Sandberg. According to Screen Rant, Sandberg had taken to Twitter to inform fans that there were still parts left to finish filming, also pointing out that many of the actors had however completed shooting for their parts.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is a sequel to the 2019 DCEU movie Shazam!, which tells the story of a young, troubled orphan, played by Asher Angel, who is chosen by an ancient wizard to take on the role of the titular superhero. On chanting the name, the teen is transformed into the adult superhero with the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury.
The upcoming film will see several of the original cast such as Jack Dylan Grazer, Djimon Hounsou, Ian Chen, Faithe Herman, Jovan Armand among others, reprise their roles. Shazam! Fury of the Gods will also feature seasoned Hollywood names such as Lucy Liu, Helen Mirren and Rachel Zegler in new roles. Plot details of the upcoming film are yet to be released.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is scheduled to be released in the US in 2023.
