Namita Thapar is one of the popular judges on the business reality show Shark Tank India who is known for her encouraging comments and letting down contestants easy. The executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals recently opened up about her experience on the show, which she judges along with the other sharks Ashneer Grover, Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal, Ghazal Alagh, and Peyush Bansal.

In a conversation with YourStory, Thapar had talked about how important Shark Tank India was for encouraging the budding entrepreneurs of the country. She had nothing but good things to say of the contestants on the show, saying that their infectious enthusiasm and drive had touched her deeply. She also revealed that she had invested in over 25 businesses from the show.

Regarding her fellow judges, none of whom she had been acquainted with before the show, she talked about the immense respect they all had for each other. Even when the group had disagreements during the show, it never affected their attitudes towards each other. Some of them had even acted as co-investors on certain deals.

The businesswoman also talked about the astounding professionalism the makers displayed behind the scenes of the show, saying that their efficiency helped calm any doubt or anxieties she had about being on the show. She also mentioned that nothing on the show was scripted.

Thapar also addressed some comments made by critics of the show who themselves were a part of the startup scene in the country. Defending the series, Thapar remarked how the show offered an opportunity to inspire millions and asked critics to understand the huge impact it had.
