Even though Shark Tank India concluded last month, the ‘sharks’ of the show are still very popular with the fans. Ashneer Grover, who was the most talked about judge on the show, has now resigned from BharatPe.
Grover has left his post as MD and director of BharatPe, days after BharatPe let his wife go for alleged financial irregularities, ranging from producing fake invoices to billing the company for personal beauty treatment and trips abroad.
However, Grover addressed a letter to the company, where he says that he was ‘vilified and targeted’. According to NDTV, he wrote, “Since the beginning of 2022, unfortunately, I've been embroiled in baseless and targeted attacks on me and my family by a few individuals who are ready not only to harm me and my reputation but also harm the reputation of the company."
He also wrote that he writes the letter with a heavy heart, as he is forced to leave a company that he had founded. He also added that he feels proud that the company is standing as a leader in the fintech world.
Grover, who was one of the most popular members of the Shark Tank India, was known for his attitude on the show, often losing his cool with contestants. He was also liked and disliked by fans for this, attracting a lot of hateful comments and trolls.
Apart from Grover, other sharks on the show included Aman Gupta (co-founder and chief marketing officer of boAt), Anupam Mittal (founder and CEO of Shaadi.com), Namita Thapar (executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (CEO and co-founder of SUGAR Cosmetics), Peyush Bansal (co-founder and CEO of Lenskart) and Ghazal Alagh (Co-founder and Chief Mama of MamaEarth).
