The business reality show Shark Tank India has seen many pitches and out of them, there were a few products which were weird. Whether you think about belly button shaper or burger maggi, there is literally no need or use of the products and they are just plain weird. The judges aka Ashne er Grover, Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Namita Thapar, Ghazal Alagh and Peyush Bansala also had a noteable reaction to each of the pitches. Take a look…

1. Belly button shaper aka ‘Navel Fukai’

A couple introduced the belly button shaper to the sharks. The man Baldev Jumnani, previously a pharmacist, left his job to get into the business of selling these belly button shapers. He named them ‘Navel Fukai’ inspired by how the Japanese take care of their body but India has ignored it. The ‘shark’ judges also ignored the product completely. Ashneer, known for his no-nonsense attitude, even told Baldev to stop selling his product, not take the samples back and not waste a single moment behind it anymore. Ashneer even questioned Baldev’s profession stating that when there are so many illnesses waiting to be cured, why would he created such a product, especially when he is a pharmacist. As Ashneer said that the product won’t sell anymore, his words left Baldev devastated, who ran his household depending on the product for six months.

2. Burger Maggi or Aglio e Olio Maggi

Two men Rahul Daga and Arpit Kabra started their restaurant Hungry Head, which sells maggi in 80 different varieties, including pizza maggi, burger maggi and pani puri maggi. Although their product has the taste, it is not something that can turn into a delivery business and the sharks realized that and explained the two about the same deal. Even the remotest areas sell maggi and make more sales because of tourism but Hungry Head’s maggi has nothing interesting for the judges. Ashneer agrees by stating that even the remote areas make double the sales.

3. A mask for your glass

Rohit Warrier pitched in an idea that was a mask for the glass. As bizarre as it sounds, Rohit did present it on the show. Like you would expect, Ashneer was the first to ditch the idea. All other judges followed suit saying that if they actually have a problem with a glass, they’d much rather order for a straw and use that.

4. Bag holder/foldable cup

Adding to the products that are not novel, Siddharth Gupta from SID07 designs showed the sharks a bag holder and foldable cup among the many things he invented. Seeing how he has nothing new to offer, Ashneer was quick to call him ‘wannabe superstar’. His advice? “Go back to Germany, take your degree and join an engineering company.” Surprisingly though, Peyush Bansal made a deal with Siddharth and rubbed Aman Gupta the wrong way while doing so.

5. Ice-cream with fibre

Delhi-based Gaurav Goyal from Gopal 56 demanded that the sharks invest Rs. 300 crores in his business. What is his business though? Ice-cream with fibre. The ice-cream has ayurvedic properties in them. Gaurav promises they have taste too but is ice-cream really meant to be ayurvedic? Guess that’s what happens after masala dosa ice-cream.

Gaurav, who has a store in Kalkaji and in CBI headquarters, has opened up his business in California. This stunned the sharks. It is the reason why he demands that the sharks invest Rs. 300 crores in his business. What did Ashneer say? Think about Malviya Nagar before California and USA. If they all eat your ice-cream thrice a day, only then you can make profits. Good point.
