Shark Tank India is a show that has been lauded by many for its attempts to inspire and foster the entrepreneurial spirit of up and coming businesspersons in the country. However, it seems that not everyone is pleased with the way things are done on the show. Recently, an entrepreneur claimed that one of the pitchers on the show had reportedly been ‘ghosted’ by the sharks even after obtaining a deal. The former also revealed that he had been a pitcher on the show himself.
A Twitter user who goes by the name of Akshay Shah narrated an incident on the social media platform where he met a founder who had obtained a deal from two sharks in season one. But the sharks had reportedly not interacted with him ever since, and had not even responded to his emails.
In the thread, Akshay went on to mention that the pitcher in question did not want to reveal his identity and was also frightened to come forward publicly with their claim.
In another thread, Akshay claimed that he had been a pitcher on the show’s first season himself. The user said that most parts of his pitch was designed by the channel's creatives, and he had no choice but to stick to it. He also claimed that the channel required the pitchers to rehearse the same for at least two days before the presentation was due.
He then went on to narrate how the different sharks, BharatPe founder Ashneer Grover, boAt CMO and co-founder Aman Gupta, Lenskart CEO and co-founder Peyush Bansal, Shaadi.com CEO and co-founder Anupam Mittal and Emcure Pharmaceuticals executive director Namita Thapar, reacted to his pitch. Akshay also gave a rundown of how he reacted to the points made by the sharks as well.
Shark Tank India is available to stream on SonyLIV.
