Shark Tank India has witnessed a number of innovations make its way into the tank, comprising a plethora of fields. Be it the medical field, food or sports, the brilliant minds of the country seem to be coming up with innovations to make life better in all areas. In a recent episode of the show, Pratheek and Vishwanath presented the sharks with a bowling machine which they believed would help foster the skills of the up and coming bowlers in the country.

The founders started their presentation by emphasising how a number of regions in the country lacked the necessary infrastructure to give children the necessary training in batting. They presented their product, Freebowler, a manual bowling machine that operated on springs and battery, which they revealed they had sold in 15 countries already. The founders asked for Rs 75 lakhs for 7.5 % equity in their business.

The two talked about how they were seasoned cricket players themselves, and Pratheek revealed that he was the cousin of none other than Indian cricket player K.L Rahul himself. Cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin was also the brand ambassador of the company as well.

But not all sharks were impressed by the duo’s business, especially when the former realised that the duo lacked clarity on the competition they are up against, and were in a loss. Anupam Mittal was the first one to declare himself ‘out’, saying that he was doubtful of their business acumen.

As Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh and Peyush Bansal also declared themselves out, Anupam continued to remark on how he thought the founders were ‘too late’ in the game. Namita Thapar decided to bet on them, and made the duo an offer. As Namita and the founders were in discussions, Anupam remarked “Dhanda tho nahi chalne wala”.

In the end, Namita and the duo arrived at a deal- Rs 25 lakhs for 7.5% equity, with a debt of Rs 25 lakhs at 10% interest. Anupam also questioned how the founders were going to pay back the interest if they were not earning anything at all. Namita however, seemed to have full confidence in the two, and proudly declared that the two will be her success story for season 3.
