The plot of Khoj—a man's struggle to establish that the lady claiming to be his wife is lying—was already attracted by Sharib Hashmi before he was offered the role. Another perk was that he got his first main role in a series.
In an interview with Mid Day, the actor said that as an audience member, he always reads the opening few lines of a story to gauge its level of interest. Then, Hashmi becomes aware of the role his personality plays in the story. "Here, everything fit," remarks the actor of the ZEE5 series, which also stars Anupriya Goenka and Aamir Dalvi.
Hashmi has played a wide range of characters in his 16-year career, from a close friend of the main character in Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) to a loving spouse in Tarla (2023). Now, filmmakers are approaching the actor with starring roles, and he believes he can detect a change in the industry's view.
For the time being, Hashmi will decline all offers of assistance as he has the ability to make his own decisions. Filmmakers' faith in him is evident in the parts they're casting him in. There has been a change in how the industry views him. More people appreciate and love Hashmi and the effort he has put into earning it.
In any conversation with Hashmi, The Family Man will inevitably come up. Season three of the Manoj Bajpayee espionage thriller is almost complete. The actor announced that they will wrap up filming by the end of December. He eagerly anticipates each season's reunion with Bajpayee.
When he collaborates with Bajpayee, Hashmi always makes sure he is well-prepared. If the actor messes up his lines even a little, Manoj points out that he's doing great. Bajpayee has achieved superstardom, and for Hashmi, collaborating with him is a breeze. He could converse with him about film, actors, and life for hours. To Hashmi, Bajpayee is like an older brother and a trusted friend.
On December 27, 2024, Khoj - Parchaiyon Ke Uss Paar will make its debut on ZEE5 (OTTplay Premium).
