After the film bodies in Kerala announced that they are taking a non-cooperative stance against actors Shane Nigam and Sreenath Bhasi for their misconduct on the sets and alleged use of drugs, the letter sent to RDX producer Sophia Paul by the actor as well as her complaint to the film bodies against the actor surfaced online.

Shane, who had walked out of the sets of RDX last month due to not being happy about how his portions in the Nahas Hidayath action-thriller, had sent a letter to the producer, saying that “when entering into an agreement with me, I had been informed that I have been cast in the movie as a lead actor along with two co-actors”.

In the mail leaking online, the actor wrote that his role as Robert in the movie, which also has Antony Varghese and Neeraj Madhav, didn’t “receive adequate importance that a lead character demands”. He sought clarification from the producer, while also asking for “further time required to complet the shoot as the deadline for its completion has already elapsed” as per the initial discussions.

Further in the letter, Shane requests that during the promotions and marketing of the movie, his character should be given “primary importance”. This should also be maintained in the final cut of the film, he wrote, adding that these concerns could affect his “personal and professional life”.

Those who had read Shane’s letter on social media also stated that if the agreement did state that he was the lead actor and it was later edited out, he should raise a complaint with the concerned parties.

As soon as this mail found its way online, the copy of the complaint filed by producer Sophia Paul to Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) revealed that her grievance was Shane and his mother getting involved in the editing of the movie. “Shane and his mother are also getting involved in the film’s promotions and posters,” Asianet News had reported, while adding that the complaint also said that Shane never reached the sets on time and that the actor would resume with the shoot only after he and his mother had watched what was shot. Sophia Paul had previously co-produced Dulquer Salmaan, Parvathy and Nivin Pauly-starrer Bangalore Days and backed Tovino Thomas' Minnal Murali.

A few days ago, KFPA officials along with AMMA and FEFKA, had stated that they will not be co-operating with any producers who decide to do movies with Shane. The actor had earlier got into trouble when he locked horns with the makers of Veyil in 2019 and the producers association had declared an “unofficial ban” against the actor.
