PremiumShane Nigam, Soubin Shahir to team up for Salam Bappu’s feel-good movie to be shot in the UAE
The movie, which is also scripted by the Red Wine director, has Saiju Kurup and Renji Panciker in pivotal roles too

Director Salam Bappu, who first announced a project with Shane Nigam way back in 2019, is all set to begin work with the actor next month. The upcoming film, which is also scripted by the Red Wine and Manglish filmmaker, was finalised in 2020 but took two years for it to go on floors.
In an earlier interview, Salam had said that Shane and Nedumudi Venu will play the lead roles in the feel-good film, which will be shot extensively in the UAE. However, with the veteran actor passing away last year , it seems that Soubin Shahir has joined the film as part of the cast.
The upcoming film, which is reportedly based on friendships and will be shot in Dubai, Fujairah and Kerala, also has Saiju Kurup and Renji Panicker. The shoot of the movie will mostly be in the outskirts of the Emirates and is set to begin from March 2022.
The filmmaker said that Shane plays a youth based in Malappuram, who after his college education reaches the United Arab Emirates, but what welcomes is not the UAE that he has heard of.
It’s been almost eight years since Salam has directed a feature film. The filmmaker, however, last year debuted as a scriptwriter in Kannada with Bhavana-starrer srikrishna@gmail.com. Incidentally, he was introduced to the Kannada film’s producer while he was in Dubai for a recce for Shane Nigam’s upcoming movie.
Meanwhile, Shane has several films lined up for release. The actor, who was last seen in Rahul Sadasivan’s psychological horror-thriller Bhoothakaalam , which released on Sony LIV, has Sarath Menon’s Veyil coming up. The movie is expected to hit theatres on February 28. He is also part of TK Rajeevkumar’s feel-good entertainer Bermuda and Jeevan Jojo’s Ullasam.
