Up-and-coming Malayalam actor Shane Nigam has recently found himself embroiled in yet another controversy. According to reports, he has walked out from the sets of debutant director Nahas Hidhayath's RDX, citing issues with the script and his character's portrayal. It's said that Shane left the movie sets without completing his portions, disrupting the film's production. Reportedly, senior actors Lal, Babu Antony and Baiju Santhosh, who were also present on the sets during the shoot, were upset with Shane's actions.
However, Shane nor the producers have not reacted to the reports.
This latest incident has garnered attention and criticism from both fans and industry insiders alike. Actor Antony Varghese, who is also playing a key role in the movie, on Tuesday, shared a cryptic Facebook post. He wrote, "No drama, please. Dedicated to those who are playing real-life drama here.” However, he has since deleted the said post. RDX also stars Neeraj Madhav .
Antony's post was perceived as his jibe at Shane. This is not the first time that Shane has been involved in a controversial incident. In fact, he has had a few run-ins with industry figures in the past. One of the most notable controversies involving Shane occurred in 2019. The producers of Veyil had accused him of behavioural issues including tardiness and lack of cooperation. This incident caused a lot of tension between Shane and the film's producers, leading to a public feud that played out on social media.
In 2019, the Kerala Film Producers Association also banned Shane charges of “indiscipline" and causing monetary loss to the producers of Veyil and Qurubani. The issues were later resolved after Shane agreed to honour his commitment to his movies.
It remains to be seen how this latest incident with RDX will affect Shane's career moving forward.
