Shahid Kapoor's Deva has passed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) test and came out with a U/A certificate. The more interesting bit is that the board has chopped off six seconds of a lip-lock scene in the film. With the final changes in place, Deva is likely to stick to its January 31 release in theatres. Here are all the edits made...
Deva has a lip-lock scene that lasted for seconds, but that too has been edited out. According to Bollywood Hungama, six seconds of the very scene is edited, and that is just the first change suggested by the CBFC.
We all know that when Shahid Kapoor goes unfiltered on the big screen, he is fire. The CBFC has not let this one pass though. There's a foul gesture in Deva which is modified for general viewing.
Deva uses a lot of foul words, which also did not sit well with the board. These words are now replaced with milder alternatives. The same is reflected in the subtitles too.
Rosshan Andrrews' Deva also stars Pooja Hegde, Kubbra Sait, and Pavail Gulati. The film has been granted the U/A certificate with the changes suggested. The movie's runtime now is 2 hours 36 minutes and 59 seconds. Other Shahid Kapoor movies which also released with an almost three-hour runtime include Kabir Singh, Jersey, and Rangoon.
