Shahana Goswami on her role in Hush Hush: 'I've a special spot for people who seem tough but are soft inside'

As the release date of the multi-starrer web series Hush Hush nears, its lead actors are revealing more about their characters in the Amazon Prime Video show. Actress Shahana Goswami recently shared why she could relate to her on-screen character so much.

In the show, Shahana plays a successful bridal couture designer, Zaira Shaikh.

Sharing more insight on her character Shahana said, “I have a special spot for people who come across as tough on the outside but have great softness inside, and that's what connected me to Zaira. On the outside, Zaira's life is all sorted and great, but she's fighting internal issues too."

She also mentioned that her character Zaira does not want to share her inner turmoil and burden others. Rather the fashion designer is one of those individuals who is taking on other people's worries, solving their problems and making their life easier.

The story of Hush Hush revolves around six women who are coming from privileged backgrounds and living picture-perfect life on the surface but an incident changes everything and with each episode, the narrative reveals how they are struggling with multiple issues of trust, betrayal, patriarchy and more.

The upcoming series, which has an all-female cast and crew, is directed by Tanuja Chandra and written by Juhi Chaturvedi.  

The show also features Soha Ali Khan, Kritika Kamra, Shahna Goswami, Karishma Tanna and Ayesha Jhulkha as protagonists.

In the recent times, Shahana has been making her mark with some of her stellar performances in several web series including Mira Nair's A Suitable Boy, Netflix original Bombay Begums and Amazon Original The Last Hour.

Earlier, the actress appeared in several Bollywood and indie films like - Farhan Akhtar's Rock On!!, Nandita Das's directorial Firaaq, Deepika Padukone starrer Break Ke Baad, Deepa Mehta's Midnight's Children, Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine, Manoj Bajpayee starrer Gali Guliyan among others.
