More and more details into the murky case of former Mumbai Zonal Director of NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) Sameer Wankhede and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan have been emerging.
The Free Press Journal has accessed WhatApp chats between Wankhede and SRK with regard to the 2021 drugs-on-cruise case involving Shah Rukh's son, Aryan Khan.
The purported conversations between both of them are part of Wankhede's petition seeking the quashing of a CBI FIR against him.
Wankhede was accused by the CBI of demanding a bribe of Rs 25 crore from Shah Rukh to not implicate Aryan in the Cordelia cruise drug bust case.
Over 10 days after Aryan's arrest in the case, in a chat dated October 14, 2021, the Free Press Journal reports that SRK had messaged Wankhede, pleading and begging the former NCB director to "go easy and let me get my son home".
Shah Rukh sent repeated unanswered messages to Wankhede. He begins the chat with the message, "Sameer sahib may I speak with you for a minute please. Regards shah rukh khan. I know this is officially inappropriate and maybe outright wrong but once as a father if I can speak with you. please. Love srk."
The Pathaan star then asks to speak with Wankhede over the phone. While there is no reply to the chat from Wankhede, the conversation seems to have taken place.
After this, another one of the Bollywood star's messages read, "There is nothing more I can say or do but beg you. Please."

Earlier today, Wankhede filed a petition before the Bombay High Court for the quashing of the CBI FIR filed against him.
He has also sought protection from coercive action related to the FIR.
