It was a euphoric moment in Chennai, where the pre-release event for Jawan was held, and everyone from the team of the film attended it except Nayanthara. Each team member, including the cast and crew, gave a speech at the event and was all praise for each other, especially Shah Rukh Khan. Vijay Sethupathi, who plays the antagonist in the film, shared an interesting anecdote about loving a girl when he was in school, but she was in love with SRK. So he took revenge now, after so many years, by working with him.
"You can't take my girls."
During his speech, Shah Rukh spoke about the same and said, "I am assuming all of them who have spoken in Tamil in front of you have only praised me so far because I could not understand them except for Vijay Sethupathi. I think everybody praised me. He was talking about some girls, and Vijay sir, let me tell you, you can take revenge, but you can’t take my girls; that belongs to me and Jaffar from now onwards." The whole crowd burst into laughter when the superstar said that.
Vijay on their first meeting in Melbourne:
During his speech, Vijay recalled meeting Shah Rukh for the first time in Melbourne. He said they had assigned seating, and he was trying to find his spot. The actor was able to locate a seat next to SRK. When the superstar complimented Vijay, he was taken aback. But SRK declared at the after-party that whatever he stated about him was true.
Vijay further said that, in SRK's eyes, everyone is equal. The Master actor thinks performers should be fair to one another, just as they should be to their roles. He admires SRK's thought process and the way he responds.
SRK couldn't stop praising Vijay:
During his speech, Shah Rukh went on to say all things beautiful about Vijay. He said, "And I'll take a moment and tell you how much I love Vijay, sir. I met him in Melbourne, and he's talked about it. I heard him keep talking in Tamil. I'm assuming he was talking about that instance. And then one day we were here for Nayanthara Ji's wedding, and I met him, and we all decided to work together. I cannot tell you how much I've learned from you."
SRK went on to say he wants to let everyone in the Tamil film industry who was involved with Jawan know that he has only come to learn from them and to share what he has learned with the Tamilian audience. If one can get past the fact that he learned from a fantastic group of Jawans, people have nice things to say about him, and the movies are beautiful. SRK has been labelled a global star and a major star, but neither of those descriptions means anything to him. He owes a big debt of gratitude to everyone involved with Jawan, from the film's youngest cast member, Anirudh, to its oldest, for providing him with the opportunity to learn from such exceptional talent.
