Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan to begin shooting for King in Poland; here's when

There's so much excitement around King, as it will mark Shah Rukh Khan's return to the big screen after a three-year-long wait in 2026. An intriguing update has surfaced regarding the superstar's anticipated start date for the Sujoy Ghosh-helmed film. 

Pre-production and recce in Poland

According to reports in Pinkvilla, rumours are that SRK is about to begin filming King, the Sujoy Ghosh directorial feature that Siddharth Anand and Gauri Khan will produce. Sid and Sujoy are currently working on the film's preproduction while conducting a recce in Poland.

At the tail end of January, Shah Rukh and Suhana Khan will kick off the inaugural schedule of King in Poland. The plan is to film in untapped Warsaw areas before moving the set to other European countries. 

First schedule set for January 2025 in Warsaw

An insider told the entertainment portal that the cast and crew of King, including Abhishek Bachchan, will begin filming in various untapped European locations in January 2025, before returning to India for a few more schedules.

In an earlier interview, SRK revealed that Siddharth Anand is the producer of King, while Sujoy Ghosh is the director. The superstar shared on an international platform that the film falls under the genre of action drama, and he is looking forward to it. For the past seven or eight years, SRK has harboured a strong desire to star in a movie of that kind. For the sake of being completely sensitive, they simply thought Sujoy would be the best option. All of them are about to embark on a massive, exciting, emotionally charged, and awesome film.

Siddharth Anand’s expansive slate of projects

Everything is gearing up for the third Siddharth Anand production to hit the floors, following Fighter and Jewel Thief. Among the many projects in the filmmaker's pipeline are Krrish 4, Rambo, an action film with a female lead, an action thriller starring Akshay Kumar in a vigilante role, a biopic of Sri Sri Ravishankar (Rohan Khambati's directorial debut), and a few more films based on real stories.

Also in development at Marflix is Sid's second directorial effort. The makers anticipate the release of King in the summer of 2026. Before Shah Rukh Khan moves on to Pathaan 2, the YRF Spy Universe Film, the film will conclude in September or October 2025.
