While social media may have given rise to cancel culture, considerable amount of toxicity, it takes someone with the wit of a Shah Rukh Khan to respond to fans and trolls with equal poise. After scoring the biggest hit of his career with Pathaan, he’s expected to have two other releases in 2023 - director Atlee’s actioner Jawan (alongside Nayanthara) and Raj Kumar Hirani’s Dunki (opposite Taapsee Pannu).

Though there was a lot of speculation around the release delay of Jawan (scheduled to hit theatres in June earlier), the production house Red Chillies Entertainment confirmed the eager fans that the film would be hitting screens worldwide in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi on September 7. Shah Rukh Khan plays a double role in the film that also stars Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Vijay Sethupathi, Yogi Babu and Sunil Grover.

Coinciding with the release announcement of Jawan, the Pathaan star decided to go ahead with an ‘#AskSRK’ session on Twitter. One of the fans during the virtual interaction went onto ask him, ‘Why jawan got delayed #AskSRK @iamsrk?,’ SRK was candid enough to admit and respond, “Takes time and patience to make something worthy for audiences….#Jawan #7thSeptember2023”

In another elaborate response to a fan, the star added, “Everybody was working without a break and pushing themselves…so a bit relieved that all can do their job with more ease now. #Jawan #7thSeptember2023” The shoot experience with Atlee, Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara was ‘hectic’, ‘really intense’ and ‘fun’, the 57-year-old stated.

Pathaan wasn’t only a huge success in Hindi but also enjoyed an impressive run in the Telugu and Tamil versions. Given the wide range of talents in Jawan and the popularity of the names in the regional markets, it’s fair to expect that the action-entertainer will open big in South India.
