The bond that was shared between actor Shah Rukh Khan and late actor Dilip Kumar knew no bounds. Khan, since his childhood, was fond of Kumar’s works and often drew inspiration from him and his way of life. According to a report published in the BBC, Shah Rukh Khan’s father, Taj Mohammad Khan, was born and raised in the same street of Peshawar where Dilip Kumar owns an ancestral house. Quite evidently, it is no secret that Shah Rukh Khan had a special attachment to Dilip Kumar.

Commenting on this relationship, chairperson of the Infosys Foundation, Sudha Murthy shares that “Shah Rukh Khan is the only one who can act with the same kind of emotion as Dilip Kumar.”

Speaking at The Kapil Sharma Show, Murthy says, “I watch a lot of films. I remember, when I was in Pune, someone offered me a bet to watch one film every day. For 365 days (about 12 months), I watched one film every day."

“When I was young, my hero was Dilip Kumar. He was simply laajawaab. Next to him, another actor who can act with that kind of emotion is Shah Rukh Khan. When I saw (the film) Veer Zaara, I told my daughter, if Dilip Kumar had been young, he would have done Veer Zaara, and now Shah Rukh is taking his place. Only he can do it."

Murthy graced the comedy show alongside Oscar-winning producer Guneet Monga and actress Raveena Tandon. Speaking at the show, Murthy also goes on to recall the time she first met her husband Narayan Murthy, and how her life evolved afterward.

Actress Archana Puran Singh was also present at the show.
