Abhijeet Bhattacharya is one of the most iconic singers in Bollywood’s history. He has voiced several memorable tracks for some of the biggest stars in Indian cinema. His collaborations with Shah Rukh Khan became the hallmark of an era, giving Bollywood timeless tones like “Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaoon” and “Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha.” However, the singer decided to stop lending his voice to the superstar after the collaboration. In a recent interview, Abhijeet reflected on his feud with SRK and said that the actor hasn’t had a memorable song since they stopped collaborating.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya talks about Shah Rukh Khan

On Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Abhijeet Bhattacharya said that Shah Rukh could have reached out to him, not to apologize, but to do or say something to show a desire to end a disagreement or conflict.

He said, “I’m older than him, he could come and hug me. I wasn’t expecting an apology, but he could come and say, ‘Ho gaya yaar, chal yaar (come on), we’ll play together again’. But people choose to ignore me. I wasn’t feeling anger; I was hurt.”

The singer further added that after this, Lungi Dance came out and he wouldn’t sing that. He said that after him, Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu sang for him, there are so memorable songs of SRK.

"Chak De India is not a typical Shah Rukh album, and the new songs aren’t on par with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Darr, or Yes Boss. Vo cheez nahi hain abhi (It’s not the same)," he said.

Recently, Hollywood singer Dua Lipa came to India for a concert. She took everyone by surprise when she performed the viral mashup of her song Levitating and Shah Rukh Khan's song Woh Ladki Jo on the stage.

Abhijeet called out Dua for not crediting him for the song while talking to News18, but he also claimed that he ‘doesn’t care’ who she is and if she credits him for the mashup.

Meanwhile, Abhijeet's son Jay Bhattacharya also called out people for acknowledging only Shah Rukh and not his father when Dua Lipa performed the viral remix of Levitating and Woh Ladki Jo during his Mumbai concert.

He wrote on his Instagram story, “Why has it always been about actors in this country? Yes, Shah Rukh Khan is tha star of the song undoubtedly but there is another man another legend involved! “It is @abhijeetbhattacharya and composed by @anumalikmusic. Im sorry but this song is called woh ladki jo sabse alag hai - Abhijeet wherever you search it but somehow the media in this country never lets a singer get his due and then people ask me why don’t you try and sing for Bollywood.”
