If the buzz in the industry and social media is to go by, ace director Selvaraghavan is all set to make a sequel to his hit 2004 film, 7G Rainbow Colony. The film starred newcomers Ravi Krishna and Soniya Aggarwal in the lead and the romantic drama went on to attain a cult status among youngsters then.
We hear that Ravi Krishna, who hasn't been part of any Tamil film since Aaranya Kaaandam (2011) is all set to make a comeback and reprise his character. However, we hear that the director might be looking for another face for the leading lady as Soniya's character Anitha dies towards the end of the film. The director is yet to make an official announcement about the remake though.
The plot of 7G Rainbow Colony revolves around the unrequited love of a young man. The film was Selavaraghavan's sophomore project after his debut with Kaadhal Kondein. The film was shot simultaneously in Telugu as well and it was released as 7G Brindavan Colony. Selvaraghavan has been questioned time and again about the sequels to Aayirathil Oruvan and 7G Rainbow Colony. If the director indeeds confirms the sequel to both, fans are sure to be on cloud nine.
Selvaraghavan, in the meantime, has been testing waters in acting. He was last seen in Mohan G's Bakasuran. Though the film opened to negative reviews and was a dampener at the box office, Selvaraghavan received praise for his performance. Selvaraghavan was also seen in Beast, Saani Kaayidham and his last directorial Naane Varuvaen.
Naane Varuvaen marked his comeback with Dhanush after a span of a decade. The duo had last worked together in Mayakkam Enna (2011). Dhanush appeared in a dual role in the horror thriller and Selvaraghavan made a special appearance in it. The film was a box office success.
