Only a few days ago, actor and director Dhanush revealed the first look and title of his upcoming film, D50, as Raayan. While the poster received immediate attention and intrigued the actor's fan base, rumours began to float that the film's story is a reworked version of the script penned by Dhanush's brother and filmmaker Selvaraghavan.

However, taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Selvaraghavan rubbished the claims and said he has not contributed anything to the script of Raayan. Raayan also stars Kalidas Jayaram and Sundeep Kishan in lead roles.

What did Selvaraghavan say?

For the uninitiated, speculation was rife that Raayan is Dhanush's shelved project with Ajith Kumar. Earlier in an interview, actor Bharath disclosed that Selvaraghavan had a script that worked, which was a gangster drama. The actor also stated that it was supposed to have starred himself, Ajith, and Dhanush as three brothers. Reports also suggested that the film was titled Kasimedu but was later dropped due to scheduling conflicts and the cast being unable to accommodate the project. Now with Raayan, it was said that Dhanush has reworked on the project and revived it, with himself starring in it along with Sundeep Kishan and Kalidas Jayaram.

Taking to his social media handle, Selvaraghavan clarified that he has not contributed in any capacity to Raayan and its script work. “Friends, heard reports that I have written the script for D 50 RAAYAN. I clarify that I have NOTHING to do with ‘ RAAYAN ‘ s script or scripting process. It’s purely @dhanushkraja s dream script and now he has made it in to his own film,” he wrote.

Selvaraghavan also confirmed that he is associated with the project only as an actor. “Like all of you I cannot wait to watch #Raayan in theatres. Proud of my brother @dhanushkraja and his hard work and dedication,” he added.
