Makers of Dhanush’s Raayan have been consistently unveiling exciting character posters and the latest update from the film is here! The makers of the film have now unveiled a gripping poster of director-turned-actor Selvaraghavan from the gangster drama.
The new poster, in a monochromatic theme, has the actor giving an intense look. Wearing his usual glasses, the actor is seen looking sideways. Interestingly, the poster also features polluted factories in the background, indicating an intriguing connection between the character and the mysterious backdrop. Nonetheless, the poster has grabbed the attention of many viewers who have been excited to see Selvaraghavan in a Dhanush directorial.
Notably, Selvaraghavan, who is also the brother of actor Dhanush, has collaborated as a director and screenwriter on several films of Dhanush, including his debut film Thulluvadho Ilamai (2002), Pudhupettai (2006), Yaaradi Nee Mohini (2008) and Mayakkam Enna (2011).
Sharing the new character poster of actor-director Selvaraghavan, leading man Dhanush expressed his gratitude for directing his brother in his movie. “Never thought I’ll direct you someday @selvaraghavan (sic)”, the actor wrote.

Earlier, rumours were circulating about the film’s script, stating that the story is a reworked version of the script penned by Dhanush's brother and filmmaker Selvaraghavan. However, Selvaraghavan has quashed the claims and clarified that he has not contributed anything to the script of Raayan. “Friends , heard reports that I have written the script for D 50 RAAYAN. I clarify that I have NOTHING to do with ‘ RAAYAN ‘ s script or scripting process. It’s purely @dhanushkraja's dream script and now he has made it into his own film. I am merely an actor in this project (sic)”, the director revealed in his X (formerly Twitter) post.
Raayan or D 50 marks the second directorial project of actor Dhanush and the 50th film in his acting career. The movie is touted to be a gangster drama situated against the backdrop of North Madras, with Dhanush rumoured to be playing the character of a cook who was formerly a gangster. The film also stars Selvaraghavan, SJ Suryah, Kalidas Jayaram and Sundeep Kishan in pivotal roles. Actress Dushara Vijayan who will be playing the female lead opposite Dhanush in the film, which has music composed by Academy Award-winning composer A R Rahman.
