Selena Gomez to reportedly make MCU debut with Agatha All Along and you cannot guess what she is playing

For months now, we’ve been living with the curiosity of watching Agatha All Along. The show, which has gone through over three title changes, along with plenty of drama, is one of the most anticipated in the MCU. Starring Kathryn Hahn as the titular Agatha Harkness, the show is set to take the MCU in a fresh direction as we enter the horror era of the studio. We already know there are going to be big surprises, reveals, and twists throughout the show, but some surprises are ones we aren’t even prepared for. One such surprise is a new rumor speculating that Selena Gomez might join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yes, you heard that right. This time, there’s even a character name attached to it. 

Selena Gomez Making Her MCU Debut?

According to a new rumor from scooper Film Base, Selena Gomez is reportedly making her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Agatha All Along. For those new to this news, this isn’t the first time the singer and actress has been linked to the project. In 2023, this rumor first surfaced, but nothing was confirmed after that. Fast forward to today, and the rumor is back, with a specific character name attached, which might surprise you.

According to the scooper, Selena Gomez will make a special appearance in Agatha All Along, portraying Apex Russo in the Kathryn Hahn starrer. To give you some context, Gomez played Alex Russo in Wizards of Waverly Place. Interestingly, that show is reportedly an inspiration for one of the nine episodes of the Kathryn Hahn-led series. So, it’s possible Gomez could make a surprise appearance. However, take this with a grain of salt, as it was also rumored that Taylor Swift would appear in Deadpool & Wolverine as Dazzler, which turned out not to be true.

As per the latest update, Agatha All Along will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar with two episodes on September 18, 2024. The show will then continue to release one episode each Wednesday until October 30, 2024, which coincides with Halloween. To conclude the Kathryn Hahn starrer on the spookiest day of the year, the makers will release the penultimate and finale episodes (the 8th and 9th episodes, which are said to be a two-part finale) on September 30.
