Looks like all is not well with Selena Gomez. This morning, the 31-year-old American celebrity dropped a post announcing that she plans to deactivate her Instagram handle. However, minutes later, she deleted the post. This development comes days after she expressed her concerns on the ongoing war going on between Israel-Palestine, and Russia-Ukraine which led to the killings of thousands of people.

Selena Gomez’ global impact

Not long ago, musician Selena Gomez established the nonprofit organization, the Rare Impact Fund, with a primary focus on promoting mental health awareness. Committed to raising a substantial US$100 million over the next decade, Selena, who has battled depression herself, is passionately dedicated to this cause. She recently took part in the "raw and intimate" documentary film, "Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me," directed by Alek Keshishian. Premiering at the AFI Fest in November 2022, the film hit Apple TV+ and select theaters two days later to a positive critical reception. Its commendable transparency on mental health matters earned widespread praise.

Selena Gomez was in a relationship with American singer-songwriter Nick Jonas in 2008, but later ended things. From December 2010 to March 2018, she navigated an on-again, off-again romance with Canadian singer Justin Bieber, eventually parting ways. Following that, she entered a relationship with Russian-German DJ Zedd after collaborating on the song "I Want You to Know," but the couple eventually separated. Subsequently, Gomez started dating Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd, only to experience another breakup.

As of now, Gomez considers musician Taylor Swift her "only" friend in the industry.
