The makers of the Malayalam film Secret Home have postponed its theatrical release. The mystery thriller was slated to hit the big screen today (March 1). The main cast of Secret Home includes Chandhunadh, Sshivada, Anu Mohan, and Aparna Das.

Frequent postponement of Malayalam releases

Secret Home is one of a few recent Malayalam films whose release has been delayed for unclear reasons. February proved to be a prosperous month for both moviegoers and filmmakers, as several much-anticipated films were released and became box office hits.

However, the unanticipated strike by the Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) and the apprehension about releasing films amidst these hits caused a delay in the release of several films, including Indrajith Sukumaran's Marivillin Gopurangal and Nadirshah's Once Upon a Time in Kochi.

The enigmatic teaser, which was released last week, opens with Aparna Das's character going through hallucinations after visiting an enigmatic mansion. She keeps thinking about it and the strange things the mansion is telling her. This encourages her to look into the mansion's troubled past.

Secret Home, which is set in the Kottayam area of Kerala, centres on four individuals who become involved in a grisly crime involving an odd mansion with multiple secrets. As the narrative progresses, the characters' ambiguities become more apparent. The intriguing teaser promises an engrossing story without revealing any spoilers. In general, fans are interested in learning about the enigmatic house's troubled past.

The movie, according to filmmaker Abhayakumar K, is based on a true crime narrative that happened in Kerala. “We usually only hear one side of an incident, whether it comes from the media or the police,” he said. However, the director stated in an interview that "all sides of the case are explored in this film."

He continued by saying that viewers are accustomed to seeing kind individuals play the main roles in films. However, each of the film's four central characters has a dark side to them.
