The first movie under the new contract is going to be a rom-com.

Schitt’s Creek fame Dan Levy is undoubtedly one of the most demanded commodities in Hollywood after the massive success of the sitcom. He is now the latest celebrity to sign on with Netflix. Deadline has reported that Levy recently signed a ‘first look feature deal’ and an overall agreement for scripted content as well wherein he will write and produce.
The first movie under the contract will be a rom-com and Dan will be only be starring in it but also writing, directing and producing the feature. Reportedly, the new contract will begin in July 2022 when his existing three-year overall agreement with ABC Signature expires.
Levy said, “Netflix offered Schitt’s Creek a second home at just the right time and opened the doors to a whole new audience for us.”
He also added that watching the show has amped up his excitement about continuing to convey meaningful stories with them in both TV and feature film.
Scott Stuber who is the Netflix head of global series said that Dan is an amazing all rounder and he has got creative talent, he thoughtfully approached each story with a meaningful perspective. He also acknowledged Levy’s performance in Schitt’s Creek and how it charmed the audiences around the world. Stuber also said that they are thrilled to collaborate with Dan and create new movies and series.
Levy has multiple projects lined up prior to the start of his contract next year. He has three live-action projects in the works for ABC Signature and the animated comedy Standing By for Hulu.
