Scarlett Johansson making MCU comeback as Black Widow? Here’s what the actress has to say

The permutation and combinations reportedly happening at the Marvel studios have dominated the mainstream headlines. While nothing in the recent past has worked as it did in the Infinity Saga, the tension amid the bosses is at its peak, and they are trying to return to the glory days they once enjoyed. Reports had claimed that the studio is planning to bring back the OG Avengers, especially Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. The latter now talks about the same.

If you have not been in sync with the news, the rumor that Marvel is bringing back the OG 6 Avengers and, mainly, Iron Man and Black Widow created a stir on the internet. Kevin Feige himself had to come out and shun the rumor boldly. But that also made way for him to reveal that they are indeed working with Scarlett Johansson on a project. But the details are yet to be disclosed. 

So now, when Scarlett Johansson graced The Today Show, she was, of course, going to be in a tough spot where she would have to talk about her secret Marvel project. The actor was indeed asked about the rumors around her alleged return to the MCU. But she is also trained at keeping secrets (she was in Avengers: Endgame and the training is intense), and she played it well. The actor said, "I feel like that's it, right?" And went on to joke that she could return as a vampire or a zombie erosion of Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow.

But when she was quizzed about whether she has been approached to play Black Widow again in the MCU, Scarlett Johansson laughed and decided to dodge the question by moving on to another topic.

Meanwhile, as per Direct, reacting to rumors of the fallen Avengers returning, Kevin Feige said, "Hmm….fallen Avengers returning. I literally have not even seen that, is that a new rumor?” And reacting to Robert Downey Jr and Scarlett Johansson rumour specifically he added, "We did not discuss that at the retreat. It’s the truth. We’re doing a project with Scarlett, we love Robert, he’s a part of the family. But in terms of returning? We’ll have to see."
