SonyLIV's Scam series has established a name for itself by captivating viewers and keeping them hooked. After the massive success of Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, the second season, Scam 2003: The Telgi Story also gained enormous popularity. And now the wait for the third season is finally over as the makers have officially announced the much-awaited third season of the franchise.
The newest installment of the hit franchise will dig deeper into the depths of India's one of the biggest financial scandals - Scam 2010 - The Subrata Roy Saga. Based on the book - ‘Sahara: The Untold Story by Tamal Bandyopadhyay’, the show is helmed by the one and the only - Hansal Mehta. It is produced by Applause Entertainment, in association with Studio Next.
Unveiling the big announcement, Hansal Mehta took to his official social media account and shared the teaser of the show and captioned it - "Sc3m is back!🔥💰 Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga, coming soon on @sonylivindia"
Scam 2010 will showcase the story of Subrata Roy, a maverick businessman, who rose from dust to diamonds. He was arrested in 2014 after being accused in a series of scandals including chit-fund manipulations to fake investors in the early 2000s. With almost Rs 25,000 crore in the unclaimed funds held by the government agencies, the effects of the Scam are still being felt today.
Hansal Mehta, who is the show runner and director of the franchise, said, “Scam is not just a franchise for me. It is a chronicling of our times. I’m thrilled to collaborate again with Applause and Sony LIV to bring this larger-than-life story alive.”
After keeping the viewers hooked by the gripping portrayal of Harshad Mehta to the vivid portrayal of Abdul Karim Telgi, the Scam franchise promises another intriguing show shedding light on the infamous tales of financial frauds in India.
Scam 2010 - The Subrata Roy Saga will be exclusively available on Sony LIV.
