Over the years, from the days of Kshemanga Velli Labhanga Randi to Sandade Sandadi to the recent F2: Fun and Frustration, we’ve had several films where men deal with the conflicts in marital life with a pinch of humour. Save The Tigers, Disney+ Hotstar’s new Telugu show, sails in the same boat but presents an interesting take on masculinity by referring to ‘married men’ as tigers.

Mahi V Raghav, the director of films likeYatra, Paathshaala and Anando Brahma, makes his OTT debut with Save The Tigers, a show that he has produced and co-created alongside Pradeep Advaitham under his banner Three Autumn Leaves. Popular actor Teja Kakumanu wields the megaphone for this series, to arrive on Disney+ Hotstar on April 27. The trailer of the show was unveiled earlier today.

The story revolves around the woes of three husbands, Ganta Ravi, Goutham, and Vikram. While Ganta Ravi is a local businessman who runs a small dairy farm in his locality, his wife Sujatha runs a local beauty parlour. Goutham is on a sabbatical to become a writer while his wife Madhuri is a doctor. Vikram, a creative head at an ad agency and his wife Rekha face compatibility issues.

In the trailer, Goutham is at the receiving end from his wife for leaving his job. Ravi and Sujatha are largely lost in their day-to-day livelihood issues. Vikram and Rekha meet a marriage counsellor where their differences become apparent. Bonding over their common problems, the men forge a strong rapport. The proceedings take a hilarious turn with the constant references to men as tigers.
