Saurav Das and Darshana Banik to features in a thriller that deals with organ trading

Organ trading and kidnapping is one of the most grisly crimes that take place around us. Now Sarmistha Deb is all set to bring this issue to the big screen. The film stars Saurav Das and Darshana Banik as the protagonists. Subhrajit Dutta, Rumki Chatterjee, Arkaprava Bhattacharya, and Lucky Bapuli are in other roles. Animesh Bapuli has worked as the casting director. Two teenage detectives will show their charisma in the film. The newcomers Eklabya and Snigdha will play these roles. The film is billed as a thriller.

Saurav plays a cop in the film whose name is Surya. He is the mastermind who will find the person behind this trading. Darshana will play the character of Jhilik who teaches science to kids at her home. Jhilik and Surya will develop a sweet relationship at one point. Will their romance live? The answer lies in the film.

Sarmistha Deb's film Kadambari Ajo was released last September. The film was acclaimed at different film festivals in home and abroad.

The shooting was recently completed. The director said, “A tree lowers itself down towards the ground more as it grows big. This is the same with Saurav. He behaved wonderfully with everyone from the first day of the shooting till the last day. Darshana is also very sweet. She is hard-working and attentive to her work.” The film's name is Mastermind and might be released just after Durga Puja. Rupam Islam, Rupankar Bagchi, and Ankita Bhattacharya sang the songs. Yash Chakraborty, who lives in the US, wrote two songs for the film. The shooting was done in and around the outskirts of Kolkata.
