Sathyaraj in PM Modi biopic? Here is what the actor has to say about it

A few days back, news floated that actor Sathyaraj will be headlining the biopic of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi. However, in a recent press meet, Sathyaraj clarified the truth in the news and said that no one has approached him for any such project. But that did not stop Sathyaraj sharing his thoughts on the project and suggested a few names who would make a good biopic of Modi.

Sathyaraj denies playing Modi

Albeit to the news that Sathyaraj will be playing the role of Narendra Modi in the biopic of the latter, the actor denied it and clarified that no one had approached him for any such project. However, the actor who is known for his sense of humour and timing, said that only if his late friend and filmmaker Manivannan was there he could have taken the biopic closer to the reality.

"No one has approached me. Even if I am acting, had my friend Manivannan, who is no longer with us, would have been there, he would make the film as it is," Sathyaraj said in a press event of Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan which was held recently, evoking laughter among the audience.

Further the actor said if filmmakers like Vetrimaaran, Pa Ranjith or Mari Selvaraj, makes the Modi biopic, it would be good. It is to be noted that Sathyaraj had earlier appeared in the biopic of social reformist Periyar.

Sathyaraj’s upcoming line-up

Sathyaraj was last seen in the RJ Balaji-starrer Singapore Saloon which released earlier this year in January. The actor will be next seen in Weapon, alongside Vasanth Ravi. It is scheduled to release on June 7 and is touted to be a superhuman action drama.

The actor also has two films upcoming for releases. They are Thozhar CheGuevara and Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan. The actor is also rumoured to be part of Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie, which will be helmed by filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj.
