Vithaikkaran, starring Sathish in the lead role is directed by Venki and features him as a magician

We had earlier reported that comedian-turned-lead actor Sathish will be headlining a film titled Vithaikkaran. While it was already said that the film will be hitting the theatres in February, the makers have finally revealed the date. Vithaikkaran is set to release on February 23.
The makers released a new poster while making the announcement. The poster reaffirms that Sathish will be indeed playing a magician, as one can see the playing cards on his hands, as he wears a magician suit. The supporting characters are shown below on the poster.
It is said that the actor will be seen in a dual role, which will mark his first in his acting career. The film is directed by Venki. Earlier, the teaser of the film was released by the film team. It showed the actor playing a magician who is called to retrieve a batch of smuggled and withheld goods from the Customs. It is expected that the trailer of the film will be dropped towards the release of the film, further unravelling more about the film.
Besides Sathish, the star cast includes Sathish, Simran Gupta, Anandraj, Madhusudhan, Subramaniam Siva, John Vijay, Pavel Navageethan, Japan Kumar and others. While the music for the film is by VBR, cinematography is by Yuva Karthick and editing is by Arul Elango Siddharth. The stunt sequences are choreographed by Stunner Sam and art direction is by G Durairaj.
Sathish started his career by acting in many supporting and comic roles like Kaththi, Velaikkaran, Teddy, Varisu, to name a few. In the contrary, he will be seen in a serious role in Vithaikkaaran. He was last seen in horror comedy Conjuring Kannappan. The film, which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, received decent reception upon its release, and is available for streaming on Netflix. Also starring Regina Cassandra in the lead role, the film centres around a dreamcatcher, and those who remove feathers from this object have nightmares that have repercussions in the real world.
