Joydeep Mukherjee, who is currently busy filming the eighth season of Eken Babu for Hoichoi, is all set to start a brand-new film. According to sources, this will be an adaptation of Sizar Bagchi’s Agun Paharer Puthi. Here is a lowdown on the details of the film that is produced by Camellia Productions.

Joydeep Mukherjee's new project
According to our sources close to the team, the film will have Saswata Chatterjee in the lead. Joydeep and Saswara have recently collaborated in Zee5’s web series Kaantaye Kaantaye and Hoichoi’s Adv. Achinta Aich. Now they are set to collaborate once again. Besides Saswata, Vikram Chatterjee will also be in a lead character. While these two actors have reportedly been confirmed, Joydeep’s friend and ace actor Anirban Chakrabarty can also be a part of the project. The female lead is yet to be decided. The shooting will take place in Ladakh and Kolkata. Joydeep and his team will travel to Ladakh on September 25 for recce. The shooting is scheduled to start after Puja. There has not yet been an official announcement from the production house.

Joydeep is undoubtedly one of the busiest directors in the Bengali film industry. From films to web series — he is constantly busy with his projects, shootings, and promotions. He is busy with his next project, Eken Babu. This time, the team will adapt Sujan Dasgupta’s Nrityashilpir Mrityutodonte Ekenbabu. With a working title of Puro Puri EKen, the shooting will take place in Kolkata and Puri. Besides the usual trio of Anirban, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, and Somak Ghosh as Eken Bapi and Promotho, the series may also feature Rajnandini Paul, Rahul Arunodoy Banerjee, Biswajit Chakraborty, Shankar Debnath, and Roja Paromita Dey.
