Sasikumar and Simran team up for family entertainer | All details here

Actor-filmmaker Sasikumar is all set to share screen space with actor Simran in an upcoming Tamil film, which was announced on Saturday. The film is touted to be a wholesome family entertainer, and will be written and directed by Abishan Jeevinth.

Sasikumar and Simran pair up

For the first time, Simran and Sasikumar are all set to feature in a film together. The announcement was made on Saturday by the makers, on social media. The upcoming film, which is yet to get a title, is expected to be a wholesome family entertainer, just like the brand of films Sasikumar is known for. It is written and directed by Abishan Jeevinth in his debut. The makers have not revealed the plot.

The film’s shooting is scheduled to commence by the first week of October and is planned for release during the Summer of 2025. Apart from Simran and Sasikumar, the film's cast also includes Mithun Jai Sankar, Kamalesh, Yogi Babu, Ramesh Thilak, M.S. Bhaskar, Baks (a) Bagavathy Perumal. Arvind Viswanathan is handling cinematography and Sean Roldan will be scoring the music for the film. Raj Kamal oversees the art department, and Bharath Vikraman oversees editing works.

The production company Million Dollar Studios which backed films like Good Night and Lover, will be bankrolling the upcoming film as well. A release date for the film is yet to be announced by the makers.

Simran and Sasikumar’s body of work

Simran was last seen in the recently released Andhagan in which she played the antagonist opposite Prashanth. The film was well-received. The actor has several films lined up, including the upcoming horror thriller Sabdham, the recently announced The Last One, and the much-delayed Dhruva Natchathiram.

On the other hand, Sasikumar’s recent film Nandhan is currently running in theatres. The actor has Evidence, Freedom, Naa Naa, and Pagaivanuku Arulvai awaiting releases. The actor-director also recently opened up about returning to direction soon.
