Sarkaru Noukari: Singer Sunitha’s son Akash set for acting debut, K Raghavendra Rao to produce

Popular singer Sunitha’s son Akash is all set to test waters in the film industry. He is gearing up for his acting debut titled Sarkaru Noukari, written and directed by Ganganamoni Shekar, known for his anthology Panchatantra Kathalu. Legendary filmmaker K Raghavendra Rao will be bankrolling the project under RK Teleshow. Bhavana Vazhapandal will be playing the female lead.

The film was formally launched today with a pooja ceremony held in Hyderabad. Sunitha, her husband, producer Ram Veerapaneni, Prasad Nimmakayala of ZEE Studios, Ganganamoni Shekar and K Raghavendra Rao graced the event. While Prasad Nimmakayala switched on the camera, Raghavendra Rao sounded the clapboard. The regular shoot is expected to commence from February 6.

Tanikella Bharani, Surya, Sai Srinivas Vadlamani, Manichandan, Raseshwari Mallapudi, Ramya Ponduri Trinadh too play important roles in the film. The director Ganganamoni Shekar is also the cinematographer for the project whose crew comprises costume designer Riteesha Reddy, art director Ravi. Sandilya will score the music for the same. The film may release in the second half of 2023.

More details about the cast, premise will be announced soon. Sunitha recently on her social media handle congratulated MM Keeravaani, lyricist Chandrabose, filmmaker SS Rajamouli for Naatu Naatu’s Oscar nomination. The singer, now a judge on ETV’s popular reality show Padutha Teeyaga, in many instances, has expressed her wish to see her son Akash in films.

K Raghavendra Rao was also involved in the production of two other small-budget films, Pandugod and Pelli SandaD a few months ago. While the former is out on aha, the other film, that introduced Sreeleela to Telugu cinema, is streaming on ZEE5.
